We narrate stories to our children everyday!
Childhood is the period when children learn to absorb and pick up new words in their vocabulary that they later use in their lives. Thus, at Shemrock Junior preschool, telling stories is an integral part of our curriculum. It enhances listening, speaking, communication & imagination skills of children, which in turn, build their language.
Children learn to build their moral character, develop a love of reading and connect to emotions by listening stories. Stories can divert a child’s mind into a world of magic and wonder and also teaches them what is right and what is wrong.
Stories can also create a lifelong positive association with books and learning. Teachers and facilitators at Shemrock Junior pre school dramatize the stories by using props and picture cutouts. Story-telling is effective at teaching in a way that children can easily remember and relate to the world.
